Pulsar

One of the most powerful members of the Champions, Pulsar was once a test pilot for the faster-than-light travel project that created the Intrepid, Pulsar’s craft went off course and crashed into the sun at the speed of light. The crash didn’t kill the pilot; he was reborn as a hyper-dense and incredibly strong being whose blows can release flashes of blinding light. He also gained the ability to become desolid, “pure light,” at will as well as an innate form of light travel.
