Presto

Presto, one of a small, but growing number of openly gay supers, left the team after the publication last year of Dirty Tights, Tarnished Glory, a tell-all book written by the Champions former housekeeper. Among other things, the book accused Presto, who has the power to change any form of inorganic matter into any other form of inorganic matter, of using his powers to create designer drugs to support his addiction. The scandal was a public relations nightmare for the team, and Presto was placed on “reserve” status. Presto has since given many interviews with superhero and celebrity matters in which he has bitterly complained about being kicked out of the team and has suggested that Defender is “a closet case” and implied that Multitude has used his duplication in some very unsavory ways in his personal life.

Many supers who know Presto like him; he is charismatic and funny. Many still remember that in a pitched superbattle, the cumulative effects of Presto’s transform attacks resulted in the transfiguration of Mechanon into a 7 foot chocolate Easter rabbit. Still, the consensus is that he probably does at least occasionally abuse drugs and alcohol and many can attest to his bad side; he can be vicious to those who doesn’t like or thinks have wronged him.

Presto was not with the Champions when they dissappeared; he continues to reside in Millenium City for the time being.
