New Champions
Background
The New Champions are a loosely organized superteam based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and operating primarily in Millenium City. They first began working together to investigate a black market trade in energy weapons in the city (see Episode 1). They banded together again to rescue the city from the Steel Serpent (see Episode 2 and Episode 3).
At the invitation of Sen. John Maxwell (formerly Captain Freedom), the team (popularly known as The Replacements) were invited by The Board to become a government sponsored superhero team. Desiring to retain their autonomy and informal style of operation, suspicious of government oversight, and uninterested in taking on the role of civic celebrities and public role models, the team refused. The Board then extended the offer to a rival team, the Watch (formerly NextGen).
Recently, Presto, the only member of the Champions still in the AltEarth timeline (excepting a duplicate of Multitude, see Sentry) offered to formally reconstitute the team as the New Champions. The team is now officially organized under the Champions charter. As a result, they have access to funds set aside by Defender as well as official ownership of the Champion's (now ruined) base, Homestead.
The team recently sold Homestead and made a substantial,anonymous donation to Ravenswood Academy; the cave complex beneath the school now serves as their headquarters.
Formal Organization
Per the Champion's charter, the New Champions are overseen by a rotating chairmanship that allows different acting members to chair meetings and make administrative positions. This chairmanship is held for six months at a time. This post is currently vacant.

Vehicles
The New Champions team vehicle is the Barbican, an experimental jet-bomber built during WWII as a vehicle for the Defenders of Justice. The team also makes use of a 1950 Mercury Monterey Coupe belonging to The Gumshoe. The Coupe has been restored and fitted with thrusters that allow it to fly.
