Alternate Earth is a dynamic setting, populated with several generations of heroes. The influence of Golden Age heroes like Nightraven, Miss Victory, Man O War, Doctor Destiny, Bowman II, and Captain Freedom can still be felt today. The current generation of heroes includes the player character team the New Champions and the unforviging Punishers, led by the vigilante Harbinger. Finally, A new generation of would-be heroes, represented by the students of Ravenswood Academy and the members of the Watch are seeking to prove that they can live up to the legacies of past heroes.

Alternate Earth has its share of villains as well, from mastermind archvillains like Doctor Destroyer to those motivated by personal vendettas like the Grey Gremlin II. Alternate Earth is also plagued by alliances of villains, such as the Outlaws as well as the mercenary cadre formed by the President of Sierra Leone, better known as the Warlord.

What's New? (12/12/2007)

New information about the hero Spikedriver and the unique backgrounds of Faridah Boubakeur, the staff attorney to the New League of Heroes, retired hero Adam Dai, and the thoughtful robotocist Takahashi Takumi .

Two characters for the City on a Hill campaign have been posted: Phase and Chivalry. Information about the aftermath of World in Flames has been posted as From the Ashes.
