Episode 7
I had a dream about you last night . . .
The Replacements discuss the strange dreams they have been sharing with Dementia set in a dystopic version of their world ruled by a despotic emperor. Gumshoe identifies the nationlist iconography as nearly identical to that of Destruga, the short-lived island nation ruled by Doctor Destroyer.
The Outlaws cut in
(Late July)
In her secret identity, Cypher has been working with a colleague (Dr. Turcotte) at Ultima labs, designing chips for the next generation of U.S. spy satellites.
Working late one night, her lab is raided by the Outlaws. Cypher risks revealing her secret identity to try to stop the villains, but is badly outnumbered and eventually overwhelmed.
The rest of The Replacements respond to Cypher's call for help, only to find explosions destroying Ultima's production floor. On the floor of the autofactory, the team finds a tunnell bored through the floor.
Not so fast!
The team follows the tunnell to the hangar of a nearby cargo airport, where the Outlaws are preparing to board a private jet. Just as the battle begins, Gumshoe disables the jet with a crack shot.
The battle rages for several minutes, shifting for and against our heroes. Feral Cat throws himself into the middle of the villain team, bounding, kicking, and clawing from foe to foe. Cypher and Dementia manage to knock out Tarpit and Dementia lands a mighty telekinetic blow against Graviton.
The team takes its share of hits, though. Dementia is blinded for most of the battle. Cypher is battered into unconsciousness by the Shark's power-suit piledrivers. Feral Cat is driven to a state of animal rage by his nearly mortal wounds, his chest sliced open by Diversion's cutting laser and losing copious amounts of blood from the dozens of stab wounds inflicted by Downtime's wrist razors.
Will the team be able to delay the Outlaws long enough for the authorities to arrive?
