Destroyer Double

In Episode 10, the New Champions fought a battle with this double of Doctor Destroyer, who had donned an original version of the mastervillains armor only to be poisoned by it.

An atopsy revealed that the double was the reporter Bob Richards, who had, many years ago made the unfortunate mistake of annoying Doctor Destroyer in his first, and only, televised interview. It appeared that Destroyer incinerated Richards during the interview, but apparently that was not the case.

Richards, after undergoing torture and brainwashing by Destroyer, was convinced that he was the archvillain. Locating a secret bunker of Destroyer’s in the forests of Michigan, Richards sought to execute one of that tyrant's dormant plans before the radiation injected into his system by Destoyer’s armor ended his life. Richards launched a coordinated missile strike from submarines stationed throughout the globe that destroyed the United States network of satellite surveillance.
