Where credit is due . . .

In developing the City of Secrets setting, I have drawn heavily on the work of many game designers, comic artists, and authors. I have adopted or adapted some characters and setting elements from Champions (Hero Games), Mutants & Masterminds (Green Ronin Publishing), as well as both Marvel and DC comics. Other sources include the PC game Freedom Force, developed by Irrational Games; the comics of Alan Moore, and the work of Michael Chabon.

Some ideas relating to time travel and the Multiverse were derived from existing science and some from the work of "hard-scifi" writer Stephen Baxter, and his novel The Time Ships. I also received some helpful input from the Champions listserv.

Some of the material in the Alt Earth Background and History of AltEarth (and even some of the actual text) for these sections is not my original work, but rather taken from (Hero Games)sourcebooks such as Champions Universe and Millenium City.

In developing this setting, I also consulted the campaign settings made available online by other GMs. Alien races in the game were more or less lifted from the PC strategy game Master of Orion III, developed by Quicksilver Software.

I have also taken images from each of these sources.
