Bowman II (1925-2003)

Active as Bowman II (1946-1967)

Thomas Quinn, formerly Arrow I, sidekick of Bowman I. As the first Arrow, he was a member of the Defenders of Justice. When Captain Freedom formed the Justice Squadron in 1959, he joined that team. Seeing that the team was beginning to disintegrate, and having trained his successor, Quinn chose to bow out gracefully and retire in 1967.

Quinn continued to fight crime as the Bowman into middle-age until the son of the original Bowman I, Michael Ackerman II was ready to take up the mantel as Bowman III.

After the death of Bowman III in 1987, Quinn trained the third bowman's son, Fletcher Ackerman, in the use of the bow. Fletcher Ackerman is now the current Bowman.

After his retirement, he also served periodically as an instructor at Ravenswood Academy, sharing his twenty-five years of experience with would-be heroes. Since his time with the Defenders of Justice, Quinn always regarded the golden age hero Nightraven as a mentor.

Despite the vast experience he accumulated over the years and his many contributions to teams like the Justice Squadron, Quinn never truly got over his feeling that he was merely "tagging along" with other heroes. Consequently, he was widely known in the superhero community for his humility.
