Position: Pilot and Security for New League of Heroes

"Trust me, I'm one of a kind. Call me a copy again, and just see what happens."
Background / History
The man currently known as Adam Dai appears to be a duplicate of the original Adam Dai, a mutant with the ability to temporarily create duplicates of himself. The current Adam Dai vigorously denies this, convinced that he is, in fact, the original Adam Dai, but that he has lost his powers as a result of time travel. The original Adam Dai was a member of the Champions under the name Multitude.
In 2006, the Champions pursued an armored supervillain from the scene of a robbery of a lab belonging to Elemental Technologies. The team followed the villain to a secret bunker at the edge of the city. The "villain" was actually the time-travelling resistance fighter Apeiron, who abducted the Champions into a possible future in which the Champions had been killed in 2006 by Doctor Destroyer. In this timeline, the Age of Destroyer, Destroyer has conquered AltEarth and become its totalitarian emperor. The Champions agreed to stay and fight Destroyer in the Age of Destroyer.
However, with the help of Apeiron and Cypher AD, the team was able to send one member back to the tangent universe created by their departure. By means of a nonlinearity driver, the man currently called Adam Dai was launched through time on a mission to aid in efforts to prevent Destroyer from conquering that timeline as well (see City of Secrets Episode 9). (Note: for more on the principles and technology of time travel, see the background section Multiverse).
For a time, he served as a member of the New Champions as Sentry. Although Dai could not create duplicates of himself, he augmented his martial skills by making use of a prototype suite of stealth power armor.
After the events of World in Flames, Dai decided to retire his superheroic career. He was, however, convinced by Redeemer to serve as a driver and in-house security for the team occupying the New League of Heroes base in Boston City Hall.
Personality
Dai is an unusual person, with a unique set of problems. Dedicated to his martial arts and acting training prior to becoming a superhero, he entertained dreams of movie stardom as an action hero. Even with his duplication powers (or perhaps because of them) he was aimless and lazy in other areas of his life--essentially relying on five identical assistants to foster convenience rather than achievement. When it became clear that he wasn't a particularly talented actor, he became a superhero.
As a result of this overreliance on his duplicates, Dai is having to re-learn how to manage his own life. For example, he frequently "forgets" to clean up after himself, keep appointments, or handle other large and small matters because he is so accustomed to simply creating a duplicate to deal with it. Though he tries to hide it, the reality is that he feels overwhelmed by the simple details of adult life most of the time. This, combined with his easy-going attitude gives him the impression of being adolescent.
Dai is also very attached to the notion that he is an "original," and not a copy of anyone else. The belief is deeply rooted in his psyche; unconsciously he may realize that he is a duplicate of the original Adam Dai. To admit this to himself, however, would shatter his identity.
On the surface, Dai is an easy-going and amiable man, though a bit of a "peter pan." He never seems to have any real plans or ambitions and is content to work out occasionally, watch sports, play video games, and help the League when called upon.
Appearance
A handsome, thirty-something Asian American man with a perpetual five o'clock shadow. He still has the build of an athelete, but has begun to gain some weight in the face and is developing the beginnings of a gut. His hair is often tousled and he dresses in jeans and T-shirts, often sporting a Red Sox cap--his adopted team.
